The Regulatory Council will round off a six-month period of intense trade fair activity with its presence at IFEMA, having taken part in Fitur, Madrid Fusión, Barcelona Wine Week and Gourmets

Nine wineries, each contributing three of their wines, will represent the León Designation of Origin from next Wednesday at the first edition of the specialised Winemad event. With its attendance in Madrid, the Regulatory Council, the promoter of this initiative which it also funds in full, brings to a close a cycle of intense participation in major national and international trade fairs during the first half of the year: Fitur, Madrid Fusión, Barcelona Wine Week and Gourmets.

Pardevalles, Tampesta-Andrés Marcos and Vile (all three from Valdevimbre), Margón (Pajares de los Oteros), Gordonzello (Gordoncillo), Pincerna and Petra Merino (both from Grajal de Campos), Noelia de Paz-La Osa Vinos (Ardón) and Belote (Roales de Campos) will present their Albarín white wines and Prieto Picudo and Mencía rosés and reds—mostly, though not exclusively, from the excellent 2025 vintage—at stand 650 of the DO León, in Hall 5 of Ifema.

The International Wine Fair is an international event dedicated to the wine sector that will bring together wineries, distributors, importers and professional buyers from various international markets in the country’s capital. It will also attract the media. Like three of the four major events mentioned above, it will be held at the IFEMA Madrid exhibition centre, consolidating the city’s position as a strategic hub for hosting professional gatherings with a global reach.

Over the course of three days, the fair will provide a platform designed to foster business opportunities within the wine sector. Wineries and companies will be able to showcase their products, establish business contacts and hold professional meetings with international buyers with genuine purchasing power. In addition to its commercial focus, Winemad will feature a programme of activities running in parallel, including tastings, presentations, strictly professional meetings and spaces dedicated to exploring current trends in the wine market.

With an international outlook, the fair was created with the aim of boosting the profile of wine in global markets and fostering new growth opportunities for wineries and companies in the sector. The choice of Madrid as the venue reflects its strategic position as an international hub, its connectivity and its proven track record in organising major professional events.
